In 2019, a group of churches and faith-based organizations came together on a journey to deepen their collective action on climate change.

For the Love of Creation was launched to mark the 50th anniversary of Earth Day in 2020.

Faithful Climate Conversations

To encourage dialogue on climate change, For the Love of Creation developed Faithful Climate Conversations. Visit Pour l’amour de la Création for resources available in French.

Climate Action London can provide a facilitator for these conversations, and/or an expanded 6 week program including slides and a script that delves deeper into various topics like water, clean energy, waste along with London stats and information.

There are three guides available:

Creation, Climate and You – Designed for people who have rarely, if ever, talked about climate change in a group setting before, this guide focuses on gently surfacing peoples’ emotions and underlying thoughts about climate change.

From Concern to Action – For people who may have a basic understanding of climate change or are concerned about the effects of climate change, but remain uncertain about the best ways to act in light of this reality.

Building a Better Future – Meant for people who have already been involved in climate action at some level, this guide focuses on enacting political and systemic change to address the climate emergency.

Advocacy

February 17 and October 4

Join the For the Love of Creation 2021 Faith-In-Action campaign! Make a pledge to reduce your household greenhouse gas emissions, stand in solidarity with justice-seeking communities, and show your support for increased federal climate action.

Climate Action London hosts monthly Advocacy MeetUps where Members come together for a 30 minute call to write letters to government officials.

Share your pledge and call on federal Cabinet Ministers to commit the Government of Canada to:

A. Increase our national GHG emissions reduction target and invest in a just transition to a fair, inclusive, green economy;

B. Implement the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, including, but not limited to, the right of free, prior and informed consent;

C. Commit equal support for climate change adaptation and mitigation measures in the Global South.
