To encourage the use of renewable energy and reduce reliance on fossil fuel sources. Solar energy provides a cost-effective methods to reduce GHG emissions.
Requirements
All buildings are designed to be solar-ready (i.e. electrical conduit, plumbing riser, and structural requirements, roughed in).
Energy Efficiency
Intent
To promote buildings that are designed to be energy-efficient with reduced operating costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
Requirements
Building to achieve at least ENERGY STAR® for New Homes, version 17.1 or R-2000 or equivalent.
Electric Vehicle Charging
Intent
To support the uptake of electric vehicles by providing charging infrastructure and reduce GHG emissions from gasoline powered vehicles.
Requirements
Each residential parking space, shall feature energized outlets capable of providing “Level 2” EV charging or higher to the parking space.
